Management Accountant responsibilities to include:

  • Gathering and analyzing financial information for internal use
  • Supporting budgeting & forecasting
  • Providing support to other areas of the business as required

Job brief:

We are looking for a reliable, hands-on Management Accountant to work in our busy finance department to assist our Senior Management Team in making critical business decisions by analysing and presenting key financial data.  You will assist in the management of accounting procedures and help prepare management accounts, forecasts and budgets.

The successful candidate must be a real team player as they will often be required to provide sickness/holiday cover for other team members’ roles as well as to assist other staff members when required.

An excellent management accountant must have an exceptional mathematical mind combined with a strong business orientation.  You must be able to assume responsibility for your allotted tasks and be both a strategist and a decision maker.

The goal is to contribute to the decision making process of the Senior Management Team that will ensure business growth and long-term success.


  • Gather and analyse financial information for internal use
  • Be instrumental in the provision and analysis of monthly management accounts for both internal and external use
  • Support budgeting and funding
  • Evaluate the company’s performance using key data
  • Make forecasts to assist business planning and decision-making
  • Recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost
  • Maintain records and support auditing efforts
  • Provide support to other members of staff


  • Proven experience as management accountant or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
  • Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting
  • Excellent knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
  • Working knowledge of financial software and Microsoft Excel
  • Analytical mind with aptitude for mathematics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A problem-solver with attention to detail
  • Organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Accounting/Finance Qualifications or Qualified by Experience
  • Experience/knowledge of Motor Trade advantageous


Salary:   £27,500 – £32,500 depending on experience

Hours:   Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:30 with 1 hour for lunch

Leave:   Standard 28 days statutory holiday entitlement

Salary:      £22,500 plus productivity bonus OTE £25,000

Our busy Forecourt is open 24/7 serving our customers with fuel, chilled products, hot and cold food to go, cold drinks, coffee, tobacco, alcohol and daily papers. Applicants must have Forecourt/Retail Manager Experience and be able to manage a busy Team.

The role of the Forecourt Manager is to manage all aspects of the Forecourt operation whilst ensuring their Team offer excellent customer service and to maximise the sales and financial performance generated by the Forecourt.

The Forecourt Manager will train their Team in all relevant Health and safety, cover shifts if necessary, maximise product availability, optimise stock management and the replenishment processes.

The Forecourt Manager will be responsible for placing orders for shop stock, placing orders for fuel and attend the site if necessary.
