This 1987 Land Rover was brought into us from Italy to have a bespoke restoration carried out.
The car was in quite a sorry state when it arrived having damaged panels, paint fading and in need of complete chassis, brake and suspension over hauls.
We began by stripping the “Landy” of all its body panels, running gear and suspension. The chassis and panels were then bead blasted which revealed some corrosion in the doors that was beyond repair.
The chassis was treated and painted ready for the re build.
Next the axles were overhauled along with the suspension and brakes having new components replaced as required. The engine and gearbox were mechanically sound so only required cosmetic work before being refitted to the newly painted chassis.
With all body panels off the vehicle they were repaired, prepared and painted in a period colour to suit.
The body is now going back together and the interior is in the process of being retrimmed.
We are looking to complete the project early 2017.
