SHORT TERM CAR STORAGE

This would be deemed 2 months or less and minimal, sometimes we are asked to look after valuable cars while owners are away on holiday.

MID-TERM CAR STOAGEMOST POPULAR

3 to 6 months is mid-term storage. This can be winter storage or perhaps our clients are travelling for an extended period and would like their vehicle cared for.

LONG TERM CAR STORAGE

This is 6 months + and this can be due to emigration, ill-health, simply not enough space at home or a car restoration project, but in any case, the amount of preparation will depend on the type of vehicle, the age of the vehicle and the length of time you would like it stored.

Common car storage questions

Every customer is different because every car is different and the requirements for classic car storage will differ from those of a modern sports car. So we speak to every customer to get the correct package for their needs and requirements.

This depends on battery health and car type, but around every 2-4 weeks should be sufficient. The engine will benefit from being turned over and not being left to stagnate or seize up. Batteries can be trickle charged. If your car is being stored for a few weeks or months then it may only require minimal preparation, but with high value cars that can be damaged by improper storage, this is very important.

A new healthy battery can last up to 4 weeks without lasting damage, but if the battery is not particularly healthy then it may require attention before this. If your car uses a number of electronics for in-car entertainment for example, perhaps sat nav or screens in the seat backs then it will likely degrade faster. If you are storing your car, it is best to fully charge and then disconnect your battery. Remember we can take care of this all for you!
