1989 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante LHD

Stratton Motor Company are pleased to be able to offer this beautiful low mileage classic 1989 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante LHD drive finished in an unmarked Windsor Red Metallic with a contrasting Parchment Connolly leather interior with Burgundy Piping and Burgundy Wilton Carpets to match.

The V8 Vantage Volante was the convertible version of the infamous ‘Oscar India’ model of Aston Martin that was considered the pinnacle of the newly emerging ‘supercar’ of the era and included the resurrection ‘Vantage’ name and powered by the all alloy Aston Martin 5.3L V8 Engine.

The production of the Volante model was limited to just three years, 1986 to 1989 with just 166 ‘Vantage’ models produced on RHD and LHD. But included in those numbers were just 56 ‘Cosmetic’ Vantages that were built specifically for the US, Swiss and Japanese markets.

These cars differed from the UK specification in respect of the use of Weber Fuel Injection to meet more stringent emission restrictions in those countries and consequently a slight power drop but nevertheless still a respectable 320bhp. Power was fed through a Chrysler Torque Flight 3 speed auto box giving a 0-60mph of around 6.7 seconds.

Cosmetically the cars were almost identical to the standard Vantage Volante with the exception of the bonnet scoop which was lower but was sculptured to improve aerodynamics.

As with the UK spec cars the Volante also has a deeper front spoiler, side skirts and built in rear spoiler and ‘Ronal’ alloy wheels.

This beautiful example presented for sale by us was originally a USA/Federal Specification having been built and supplied via the Palm Beach Florida Aston Martin dealer and then to an Oregon Business Owner but is now converted to EU Spec including the replacement to UK chrome bumpers, now having been a Dutch registered car and refurbished in 2010 in the Netherlands.

Also still remaining on a European registration with all EU taxes paid, this is an ideal car for export further abroad or back into Europe with ease without compliated paperwork and further delays.

The car has covered just 27,800 miles in its 36 years and is in incredible condition complete with a brand new black Mohair Black Hood.

With the production of the V8 Vantage ending in 1989 and as in this case, in very small numbers worldwide, opportunities to acquire one in such condition are increasingly scarce and potentially a strong long-term investment.
