Developed from the acclaimed DB9 platform, the DBS represented Aston Martin’s vision of a more focused and exhilarating grand tourer. Extensive weight-saving measures were employed, including the use of carbon fibre for the bonnet, boot lid, front wings and door assemblies, while carbon ceramic brakes replaced conventional steel discs. Together, these engineering enhancements reduced overall weight by approximately 65kg compared to the standard DB9 Coupe, sharpening both performance and handling characteristics.

Aerodynamic improvements were equally significant, with the DBS featuring wider wheel arches, a more aggressive front splitter and a sculpted rear diffuser, giving the car both greater road presence and enhanced high-speed stability.

At the heart of the DBS lies Aston Martin’s magnificent 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine. Revised with larger inlet ports and a series of performance enhancements, power output was increased from 450bhp to an impressive 510bhp. Delivered through the smooth and responsive 6-speed ‘Touchtronic’ automatic transmission and paired with a lower-ratio limited-slip differential, the DBS accelerates from 0–60mph in just 4.3 seconds while retaining the effortless refinement expected of an Aston Martin flagship.
