Few cars capture the romance of the road quite like this. Beneath its elegant lines lies one of Aston Martin’s most potent powerplants of the era — the legendary X-Pack V8. Uprated with larger carburettors, enlarged valve ports and reprofiled camshafts, it delivers a mighty 410 bhp. Even today, those figures are enough to quicken the pulse; in 1987, they were nothing short of extraordinary.

To harness such power, Aston Martin equipped the X-Pack with larger ventilated brake discs and lower-profile tyres, ensuring the performance was as composed as it was thrilling. The coupé version stormed from 0–60 mph in just 5.3 seconds, and while the Volante is marginally heavier due to the additional bracing of its convertible chassis, it offers much the same intoxicating pace — accompanied by the unmistakable soundtrack of a hand-built V8.
