Stratton Motor Company are pleased to be able to offer this very low mileage 1998 Lotus Elise Series 1 finished in Aluminium Silver with the optional dark Green Leather Seats and a coloured Hard Top.

This car was supplied by us new in 1998 and has a fully and documented servicing history with us, having been owned by the current keepers for the last 25 years and having covered just 42,648 miles.

The Series 1 Elise was launched in 1996 and made quite an impact on the motoring world and its improved quality and simplicity put Lotus firmly on the map. It was a simple but reliable small British sports car using the new ‘Bonded’ Aluminium Extruded chassis to give ultra-strength whilst maintaining the Lotus DNA of being a ‘Lightweight’ sports coupe with astonishing handling and respectable performance. The Elise remained a top seller for Lotus, the last Elise coming off the production line in 2021, some 23 years later.

The car is powered by the Rover ‘K’ series engine, which at the time of production was the lightest all alloy engine of it’s nature in production producing 120bhp and with a kerb weight of just 725 kgs is capable of a 0-60mph of just 5.8 seconds.

This car has the benefit of a Sports Cat and Sports Exhaust, both of which were fitted here at Stratton Motor Company in 1999.
