The Rapide is probably one of most understated Aston Martins previously in production.
Sharing the same fantastic drivetrain of its close relatives, the 6.0 litre V12 engine producing 552bhp was paired with the 8 speed Touchtronic 111 gearbox, built into the transaxle for near perfect weight distribution, and capable of gear changes of approaching 130 milliseconds, this was one rapid car, achieving a 0-60mph of just 4.2 seconds and a top speed of over 200mph.
Whilst this is rapid performance by any standard it all wrapped up in a superbly designed car, a 4 door family car/tourer with all of the equipment and luxuries expected to keep everyone aboard happy whilst not taking anything away from the driving experience. Absolute genius for what was aesthetically a 4 door hatchback.
