When Lotus designed the Exige model the focus was always on something a little different, a car that would be equally at home on the track as it would on the road, and where the majority have been driven throughout their lives. The intent therefore was to keep the car as light as possible with a powerful, yet efficient, drivetrain.

The Exige was fitted with the 3.5litre V6 Supercharged engine producing 3345bhp and 295l;bft of torque which given that the car only weighed just over 1100 kg was a remarkable power to weight ratio. The result was a car that would accelerate rapidly from stand to 60mph in just 3.8 seconds and topping out at 162mph and combining this performance with the superb suspension set up, Bilstein and Eibach giving equally impressive handling.
