Caterham cars were designed and built around the DNA of the legendary Lotus Super Seven, sharing that desire for the ultimate driver’s car, being lightweight in design with a lively engine and haver been building such cars since 1973 from their factory in Caterham in Surrey, Team Lotus having had ownership of the company before it was acquired by VT Holdings, a Japanese based company.

Powered by the naturally aspirated 2.0 litre 1998 cc Ford Duratec engine, the 420 R delivers immediate throttle response and exhilarating performance within an exceptionally lightweight chassis. Its close ratio gearbox, race inspired suspension and direct steering combine to create an immersive and highly communicative drive. The 420 R is often considered the ideal balance within the Caterham range, offering serious pace while remaining perfectly suited to road use.

Performance is understandably swift with 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and this combined with race inspired suspension provides a very exciting experience with incredible handling.

This particular car, locally owned has just one keeper who purchased the car from Caterham Silverstone in September 2024 and has the benefit of having PPF protection to the nose cone, cycle wings, headlights, tub sides and door edges with a 10 year warranty.

It is finished in Premium Black Grey with Orange ‘Caterham’ factory fitted decals to the bonnet and tub sides and features carbon fibre trim and specialist lightweight seats with four-point harnesses. Just ready in time for some summer fun.
